Eucalyptus litoralis, a eucalypt listed as Endangered under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act, is apparently restricted to coastal areas from Anglesea to Aireys Inlet, growing on shallow, sandy soils on low ridges and slopes. A eucalypt on a ridge or slope block here is identified to species before anyone quotes to take it out, and it is sometimes many stemmed, which changes how it is rigged.
Phytophthora dieback, a root disease spread by moving infested soil, has been recorded in heathy open forest and woodland in areas such as Bald Hills and Eumeralla, in the bushland around Anglesea.
Anglesea has a long bushfire history, with fourteen houses lost in 1966 and 142 homes destroyed by the severe Ash Wednesday fires of 1983.

It should, and it is a fair thing to ask when you book. Dieback travels in soil, so grinders, chippers, tyres and boots should be free of soil before and after each job, and grindings from an affected block should not be spread on clean ground.
Does what grows under the tree matter?
On a bush block it can. The Anglesea Grevillea, another plant listed as Endangered in Victoria, is apparently now confined to hilly country in the Anglesea area, where it grows in dry forest and woodland. Where the timber lands and where a machine goes are planned around what is growing underneath.
